DOM tick size issue

I am attempting to display the NQ futures price in my DOM in increments of $1, rather than 0.25. I changes in the tick size in chart settings > symbol , and I changed the "Market Depth Combine Increment in Ticks" in chart settings > market depth. This has brought me closer to my desired outcome, however, the recent bid/ask volume and the current traded bid/ask volume are still displaying the .25 tick size, so the numbers appear squished and incoherent. Is there a way to fix this?

Not yet but we are working on this:

I hope to see this feature added soon. The DOM is difficult to interpret for fast-moving markets like NQ.

We have this released and working for the "Recent Bid/Ask Volume" columns. This is in the Pre-Release version 2571.

There is a new Chart Setting for "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Market Depth >> Apply Combine Increment in Ticks to Recent Bid/Ask Volume Columns", which will then use the same setting for "Market Depth Combine Increment in Ticks" and apply it to the Recent Bid/Ask columns.

We are still working on the other columns.

Hey Support,

Looking forward to this new update! I tried setting this up, but do not know if I am going about it correctly, this is on the NQ futures. The changes I make is:

1. "Chart Settings>>Symbol>>Symbol Settings>>Tick Size" from the default of .25 -> 1.00 (This makes the RBV/RAV columns combined)
2. "Market Depth>>Market Depth Combine Increment in Ticks" from the default of 0 -> 1 (This makes the Buy/Sell columns combined)

The new setting "Market Depth>>Apply Combine Increment in Ticks to Recent Bid/Ask Volume Columns" doesn't change anything for me, but like I said maybe I am doing something wrong.
Also, the "Trade DOM Last Traded RecentBid/RecentAsk Volume Background" is not working either, when a Last Traded occurs.

Thanks for working on this feature request, looking forward to seeing this on the other columns!

Do not change your tick size. Set the Tick Size back to 0.25. Then make the following changes:
- Chart >> Chart Settings >> Market Depth >> Combine Increment in Ticks: 4
- Chart >> Chart Settings >> Market Depth >> Apply Combine Increment in Ticks to Recent Bid/Ask Volume Columns: Yes

This should resolve your issues.

Yeah I tried it this way as well, while this method does work correctly, is there a way to remove the price-levels on the scale for ticks that are not being used anymore, so in my case the ".25, .50, .75"?

Thanks for all the help, seems like I got it working such that it's usable! Last thing, is there a way to make the "Trade DOM Bid/Ask Volume Bar" or the "Trade DOM Recent Bid/Ask Volume Bar" graphic color to span the whole price level, much like it would at the default setting? Let me know if I should include pictures.

There is not a way to make the Volume Bars span the whole price level. This has been requested elsewhere as well, particularly now with the Recent Bid/Ask Volumes combining. So it is somewhat high on our list, but we can not say when we would get to it.

We pulled out the ability in a recent release as we needed to do some updates to it. It will be back soon.

Sorry - this was put back a few releases ago. So update to the latest release and the option to apply the Combine Increment in Ticks to the Recent Bid/Ask is functional.

To clarify:

Is there a reason to not change the tick size? In my experimenting with the different configurations it seems that the best way to accurately get to where the original poster was trying to get to would be to change the tick size and then to change the "Market Depth Combine Increment in Ticks".

I've attached two images of the ES attempting to get a "tick multiplier" of 2.
- Tick size 0.25 with Market Depth Combine = 1
- Tick size 0.50 with Market Depth Combine = 2

If I'm not mistaken, the Tick size 0.50 with Market Depth Combine = 2 is akin to what the original poster was looking for?

If this is the case, what are the downsides to changing the tick size for the symbol?

Thank you

It is up to you to do what you want. As long as there are no issues with whatever configuration you are using.

Hi guys,

Question about this.

During replay, the DOM shows all the other columns to follow the same logic as the recent ask/bid for compression (which is really great), but during live data it does not & only the recent bid/ask follows.

Is there something I am missing/not doing correctly to have the same behavior in live? Or is this to be released in the future? I couldn't find anything searching about this.

Thank you!
