I downloaded and installed Sierra Chart Version 2390. I was running Version 2362. I encountered the following issue. KER (Kaufman Efficiency Ratio) and QQE (Quantitative Qualitative Estimation) Custom Studies are missing from Version 2390. Sierra Chart is showing the following error message: "Failed to get the function address" in the study region. Also KER and QQE no longer appear in the Custom Studies list. Please review and fix this issue.

I found that the nminbars study was also missing

the ALF (laguirre MA with 4 inputs) was also missing on this update.

I hope sierra engineering can put these indicators back in play for us.

We are working on getting these added as built in studies. Some of these may already exist and we are checking on the equivalent names.

I am not finding the code for these User Contributed Studies in the repository, so I will need to code native versions from scratch.

As to the studies mentioned in this thread:

1) KER - This will be easy. I have already downloaded a copy of Kaufman's book in which he describes the study in detail.

2) QQE - This should be easy, provided that the following source is correct. I have not been able to find the primary source.

3) ALF (4 Inputs) - In February I added the Laguerre Filter study. It has 2 inputs. Please review the documentation below and let me know if the math matches the study that you were using and what the other 2 inputs should be.

Laguerre Filter

4) nminbars - You will have to tell me exactly what this study is. A Google search turns up zero hits.

4. Sierra Chart already has this. Refer to this study:
Study/Price Overlay Study

And to this particular Input:

Regarding the KER:

I have committed a native version of this study, which will be available in the next release. It is documented here:

Kaufman Efficiency Ratio

I am not finding the code for the custom study, but when I add it to a chart I see that it has 3 periods (defaults are 20, 0, and 0). The KER in Kaufman's book has one period, and so the native version has only one period as well. This version matches the custom study with the default settings.

Regarding the QQE:

Again, I am not finding the code for the custom study. However, when I add the custom study to a chart, I see that the formula for the link that I posted in Post #4 clearly does not match the custom study. I will not be able to add a native version of this study until I learn how the QQE and the Fast and Slow Signals are calculated.

As of this point, I have done all that I can do with this support request.

SC Support Tom:

Regarding the KER:

I am only using period 1 set to 14. I use period 2 and period 3 set to 0. So I am ok with the native version having only 1 period if the native version matches the custom study with settings of (14, 0, 0).

Regarding QQE:

I am ok without this study. I will switch from QQE to Laguerre RSI. So there is no need to spend additional time learning how QQE works.

Thanks for your help getting this taken care of.

I will switch from QQE to Laguerre RSI.

Excellent, I coded that one a few months ago. Glad someone noticed!
