I understand that current Historical Charts replays are not supported: Paper trading of spread trading? | Post: 7195

The problem arises when:
1. I tried to set Intraday Charts to 1 day or more and Sierra Charts automatically defaults to Historical Charts and will not let me set it to Intraday Charts (to 1 day per bar)? I use Interactive Brokers.
2. If I have studies on weekly or larger charts, it is more relevant to a setting of 5 days (which equals to 1 week) or 20 days (which equals to 1 month) per bar.
3. This is most important reason of why I am requesting it. That is: if I have a mixture of Intraday and Historical charts of the same symbol, they will simply not replay together. In relation to point 1 above, if you can assist in terms NOT have Sierra automatically defaults to Historical Charts (I use Interactive Brokers) and SC Historical Data service - and forces it to remain with Interactive Brokers data service if I switch a chart to daily, weekly, etc., this reason may not be as relevant.

I am sure there are technical reasons that I am not aware for this request but it is also a fact that replaying all charts seamlessly will make a trader's life much easier.

Thank you for your attention in advance.

You need to at the chart data type to Intraday Chart Only. Refer to:

One week is equivalent to 7 days. One month would be equivalent to approximately 30 days.

I am aware of that and currently just testing it out and see how far I can go back, etc. Will report back on any issues.

+1 on this one.

Though it is possible to work with intraday data, attaining historical daily/weekly/monthly data for longer periods of time is more readily available than with intraday data. historical futures / equity data going back over 10 years is freely available on the net.

here is an example of gold/silver price ratio going back to 1687 ;)

Thanks.

I am looking to replay intraday and daily/monthly/weekly data together in a synchronized fashion. For the free delayed data, I sometimes look at www.tradingview.com.

Further question for SC Engineering:

After I set it to "Intraday Charts Only" and set it to a daily bar, the "Combine Sun-Mon Daily Bars" option under the Advanced Settings tab does NOT work. What gives? Now, the Sunday globex session is a tiny bar with low volume and I have a 6 days week, etc. Please help.

yes, can intraday data be synced on replays with daily/weekly charts?

one example reason is that my intraday charts references daily charts (for pivots points, 10 day ATR)

and also overlays things from daily charts

so right now for replay, those intraday charts are showing incorrect text displays, calcuations during replays

thanks!
