x & y axis

When i begin to print a chart, it is set up so the x and y axis is pretty square, according to the grid square in the attachment. But when i print it the y axis is lengthened quite a bit. How do i stop this ?http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?l=1396481407113.png |

Sierra Chart does its best to maintain the aspect ratio, but it might change a little. Technically it should not change much. But perhaps it is for unknown reasons. Not sure what you meant by the starting date ? The starting date on the image is 08-26-2013. The aspect ratio is okay until i press the button to print, and then the y axis enlarges. |

I need to edit the previous message. It is when i click print and the print preview comes up showing increase in size of the y axis.

Is there a way to lock the y axis to prevent it from moving ?

We have looked through this and considered it. We need to write up a description of why this happens. The answer is what you see cannot be changed. Here is the general answer: In a chart window, there is a certain number of pixels between the chart bars. This number of pixels can be seen at the lower right of the chart. When printing, usually printers have a much higher resolution and also will have a different height to width ratio than the chart window. The ratio between the printer width and the chart window width is calculated and this ratio is multiplied by the bar spacing in pixels. When printing, this new pixel width is used. This can alter the first Date-Time that you see in the chart when printed. This cannot be changed. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. No because this is just how it is designed and there is not an easy solution to this unless we were to pad the right side with a certain amount of space which is not so easy to implement.

Another thing you can try to do is print to a BMP with Edit >> Copy to Chart.bmp. And then print the chart from Microsoft Paint.
