DOM not populating

Hello,

context: I connected my Ironbeam account via CQG's API this evening. I currently have the Denali feed set up as well as having set up the delayed CME feedthrough SC. I also picked up the CME bundle through my FCM. This morning i was connected again via an evaluation account.

I have three separate logins, all to the same username. One through rithimic, one for Eval, and one obviously through CQG.

The issue is I am now having the DOM not populate at all.

I can see the chart DOM levels on the side of it, but the columns are empty. Same with the trading DOM.

I just updated to the newest version.

I have a feeling I am doing this to myself with so many things going on and maybe somehow simplifying what I have going on would solve the issue.

I would appreciate advice, thank you.

How many installations of Sierra Chart do you have on your computer? It sounds like you would have 3 different installations for each connection you are making - Rithmic, CQG, and Eval (although we are not sure what Eval connection you are referring to specifically).

With your Denali data feed, you can have 2 installations of Sierra Chart getting data at the same time on the same computer. But if you have 3, then the third one will not get the data.

So we need to know a little bit more about your setup so we can understand how things are connected.

In addition, get us the Message Log from the installation you are having issues with by following these instructions:

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:
Message Log: Clearing the Message Log

Open a chart for the symbol you have an issue with. Tell us that symbol of the chart.

Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect".

Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed".

After the connection and after about 10 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#MessageLog

We will then determine what the problem is.

Got it.

I have an eval currently with Apteros. I am only running two instances. One with either CQG or Rithmic, and the other with the eval. The connection is "Trading Evaluator".

The symbol for the chart i am on right now is F.USMESZ21. But the issue is with any market or chart i pull up across both instances and all three feeds. Both the stand alone and chart DOM's.

I just sent the message log via the 'send for analysis' at about 10:50 EST.

Thank you

Your log is showing that you are getting the Market Depth data for the MES, as well as ENQ and MNQ. The MGC is not getting Market Depth as you are only signed up to get Market Depth data for the CME exchange and the MGC is traded on the COMEX.

Given this, refer to the following for information on items to check to see why you may not be displaying the Market Depth:
File Menu: Not Receiving the Full Number of Market Depth Levels

Hi John,

Just using NQ as an example the min amount in the global symbol settings is set to 0 (same for MES for posterities sake). The server was set at 100. But, the box where it says "use custom symbol settings" is unchecked, is it supposed to be? Outside of that I went through the your the directions and nothing looked out of place.

I've now logged in on both instances with my live account. And cycled through all of the SC data including the CME order routing server. None are giving me level 2.

And let me be clear. I can see the bars on the side of the DOM. It's just not the DOM itself populating. I've can SS's if need be.

Thank you

Please get us a screenshot of what you are seeing.

Also, if you open the Market Depth window (File >> Open Market Depth Window) do you see the full list of Market Depth values, or just one level (or none for that matter)?

I uploaded the chart, but am having issues figuring out how to upload the stand alone DOM the same way.

Edit: and no, i am not seeing anything in the DOM.

Given what you are showing, implies that you do not have the correct columns displayed.

There are 3 column types associated with the Buy/Bid/Sell/Ask. For the Buy/Bid they are the following:
- "Buy"
- "Bid"
- "Buy/Bid"

From what you are showing, it would mean that you just have the "Buy" column displayed and not one of the other two. Refer to the following:
Global Trade Settings Windows: Chart/Trade DOM Column Descriptions

The only other option we can come up with is that the coloring for the Bid information is set to be the same as the background. Refer to the following (and the equivalent for the Bid):

I did not have anything more than what was 'stock' so to speak enabled. I went ahead and added a few columns and 'enabled' the generic colors that are populated in the chart DOM global settings and resent the screen image.

First step - let's ensure that you have the Bid/Buy Ask/Sell columns displayed. Go to Trade >> Customize Chart/Trade DOM Columns. Ensure that on the right-hand side under the Visible Columns section, you have Bid Size/Buy Column and Ask Size/Sell Column listed. If they are not there, then select them on the left and select the -> button to add them to the visible list.

Second Step - let's check the coloring for the Bid and Ask depth data for the columns above. Go to Global Settings >> Graphics Settings (or Chart >> Graphics Settings - Chart if you are using Chart Specific settings). Then find the entry for Chart DOM Ask Depth Quantities and set this to a color that should show up well - like White. Then find the entry for Chart DOM Bid Depth Quantities and set this to a color that should show up well - like White.

Let us know what you get after doing the above. You may have to wait for the open of the market this evening to ensure that you get updated market depth data.

Go to the chart and then select File >> Open Market Depth Window. How many levels of market depth data do you see?

Afternoon/Evening.

So, for whatever reason I just had the DOM populate on ONE of my instances. It's a sub instance for one of the parents i have. No idea how, no idea why. But here's the screenshot.

Get us a chartbook from a main instance that is showing the problem, along with your 'Sierra4.config' file. Refer to the following for information on how to attach files to this thread:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#AttachFile

The 'Sierra4.config' file is located in the main Sierra Chart installation folder (typically C:\SierraChart).

Done and done.

I have two Main instances of Sierra Chart downloaded. Both files are coming from the original installation. The sub instance where the DOM is populating also happens to be from the original instance (installation) as well. It is only populating in that one market (ESZ21). That same market is not having the DOM populate in any other main or sub instance.

Edit: That one chartbook works on both SC Data - All Services and Trading Evaluator.
