Sierra Chart can be used for Stock trading, but the only trading service we work with that supports Stock trading is Interactive Brokers. Refer to the information for Interactive Brokers here:
Interactive Brokers Trading Service

If you want to get the data from us, whether you are using IB or just using Sierra Chart for charting stocks, then you would just need to activate the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and activate the U.S. Equities exchange. Refer to the following page for all the information, including pricing and setup instructions:

For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

I need a reliable setup to trade both stocks and futures from SC, or to outline it somewhat precisely, to control my equity investments nearly in realtime by algorithms based on the futures markets. Hedges with futures are also considered.

In this setup it is key to have a reliable order processing on the stock markets available and a broker, who is committed to the best possible fullfillment.

What I am reading in your IB article, trading with IB and SC seems to be a mess in praxi and over time. It seems really not recommended by the Sierra Chart Team.

What could you recommend in good conscience to achieve the desired setup?

Yes we agree.

If you want to trade futures through Interactive Brokers that would be fine. However, do use our Denali Exchange Data Feed for the data.

If you want to chart US stocks/equities within Sierra Chart that will be fine, but we do not recommend trading through Interactive Brokers.

In this last case, you will want to use this data feed for the stock data:
Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed

And install a separate installation of Sierra Chart for it:

Well, I appreciate your advice concerning the doubtless excellent Real Time Stock Market Data Feeds. I have read both informations you are pointing to certainly about ten times the past months.

But that doesn't solve the problem. The key problem seems to be to find a stock broker, who is working together with SC other than IB. In fact I expected your advice more on this topic. But you didn't reveal this. It is the most urgent question, that needs to be clarified at least for my purposes.

I only could find a list "Integration with Trading Services" and I think, this doesn't help:

- Interactive Brokers Live account
- Rithmic Live account
- CTS T4 Live account
- Sierra Chart Order Routing Service
- GAIN Capital (OEC Trader) Live account
- CQG Live account
- Transact Live account

By the way: I am using already a service pack including Denali. And I won't have a problem to add a SC RT Stock Data Feed with the according exchange fees of course. I also know your client-server architecture, which is very useful for multiple client instances (as much as I want) connected via DTC to a server instance managing all feeds and order routing.

But how do you solve a multiple order routing, since only one kind of order routing can be configured for one trading service&account (understandably)? Can different trading services&accounts be configured with individual order routings (one for stocks and one for futures) on the same server instance?

The fact of the matter is that we only have Interactive Brokers for stock trading. We are working on a new data feed for the stock data first, and once we have that done, we will reach out to other brokers to see what we can get setup. We would expect this to be in the next few months, but always be cautious with dates, as things happen that are out of our control and the actual availability can shift.

Until then, the only option remains IB. We do not recommend it, but it is the only option.

You can not have multiple services setup on the same system. You would need to have two different installations of Sierra Chart (servers) if you are using two different services.

Hi John, how is the stocks data feed going?

It continues to move forward, but is still going to take some time before it is ready. The thread to follow on the progress is here:
Upcoming Data Feed Plans 2, New Exchange

Is BATS part of the SC future. I am looking for charting only.

We already have support for the data from the BATS exchange. It is part of our Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed. Refer to the information here:

You see me a little bit confused. Don´t you recommend trading stocks with IB even if using your realtime data service (sierra chart Real-Time And historical exchange datafeed)?
As you told you are working on your own data feed for stocks. Would there be any difference to the current one which comes from
barchart and costs $10.5 per month?

The new data feed we are working on will be much superior to the current BarChart data feed, as it is completely ours and within our control. Additionally, it will have the Level 2 market depth data available.

This will be fine but we cannot help if you have any trading issues when using Interactive Brokers:

Can you please elaborate which brokers will you support? Im from EU and IB are basically my only option for trading stocks right now. I was trading futures with AMP and sierra is absolutely superior platform and I would love to use it for stocks as well

We do not have any brokers lined up. First we are dealing with the data feed. Once we have that working, then we will see what happens with regards to getting other brokers for stock trading. But we really do not know what will happen in that regard.

When will the new datafeed for stocks be available? You told it would be at the end of october or at the beginninig of November. But both dates are exceeded.
