In order to get the VIX index ($VIX), you would need to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and enable the CBOE Indices exchange. Refer to the information on this page:
Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed

Alternatively, you could get the VIX Futures data from the Denali Exchange Data Feed. Refer to the information on the following page related to the CFE Data:

Hello SC Team

I currently pay 36$ for level 5 service package continuously every month . I use India global data feed for trading here . I also use delayed data feed from Sierra chart for US CME Markets . When I go to my account panel I could see the following

“Denali Exchange Data Feed CFE (VIX) Exchanges (Optional):
[Link]
Sierra Chart version 2223 or higher required to use this data feed.

The Denali Data Feed is active.
[Todo] CFE Exchange Agreements
[Todo] Activate / Deactivate Denali Exchange Data Feed Exchanges [CFE (VIX)]”

$VIX is active but still I am not getting data for VIX . I am getting for $INX though

Kindly clarify

One more sincere query from my side is

Am I not eligible for live CME data feed since I pay 36$ for service package level 5 ?

Kindly help me to get VIX data historical

The reason why you are seeing "The Denali Data Feed is Active" is because you are currently evaluating Package 12 until July 28, 2021. After that, it will not be showing that information. You are not getting any data from the Denali Exchange Data Feed - you would need to sign the agreements and activate the specific exchanges for which you want the real-time data.

As we noted above, if you want the $VIX Index, then you would need to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and activate the CBOE Indices. If you want the VIX Futures, then you would use the Denali Exchange Data Feed and activate the CFE exchange.

In terms of the CME Group data, the main issue would be the CME Group requirement that you have a live, funded, futures trading account in order to qualify for the lower-priced non-professional exchange fees. You can always pay the professional rates and get the data. Refer to the following for more information on this:

The CBOE does not give out the historical data for free any longer (this changed back around December 2020). Therefore, if you want to get the $VIX data, you will have to pay for it. To do this, follow the information we have posted above.
