Hello,

Is it possible to set VbP or DVP tool to auto draw profiles automatically for the selected time period, X days back? That is, say on a 15 or 30 or 60 minute chart a profile is automatically drawn with start time and end time for RTH session, for say the last 5 days, for each day.
If possible, how do I set that up?
Attached is a chart image to better help describe the question.

Thanks.

Hi, please disregard the above question. I got it solved. I had the wrong combination of settings in the 2nd and 3rd setting and inputs field.

OK this is good. We were going to work on documentation for this, and we still will.

Hi,
May I suggest, for the Volume By Price tool, adding the following options:
- display the highest price and lowest price of the profile and the difference between the two.
- display total volume for the profile period
- display the cumulative Ask/Bid volume difference for the profile

Thanks.

These have already been added to the latest release:
- display total volume for the profile period
- display the cumulative Ask/Bid volume difference for the profile

Refer to the What is New page.

Very Cool! Thanks very much for the response.

Is it possible to "Multi Line" the labels? Tot Vol and Ask-Bid appear on separate lines?

Thanks a lot. You guys are quick.

I am trying to have the volume by price tool automatically draw two profiles: one for ETH and the other for RTH. I've tried different combinations of setting between the Use Different Start times and the Chart Settings session times.

How should I set up the settings to show two profiles on an intra day chart where the first profile (ETH)begins at
17:15 to 09:30 EST and the second profile goes from (RTH) 09:30 to 17:15 EST?

Thanks.

I found the solution. There is a separate field for that called use separate profile for evening session. I just enabled that and it worked.

So, what is the Use Different start Time option for?

Refer to the documentation for the Volume by Price study for the meaning of all of the different Input settings.

Hello,

I was wondering, when using the Volume by Price tool, is it possible to set it to draw the current and last days profile continuously? I can get it to draw the profile for a 2-day period but after the two days are done it starts again for a new 2 day cycle. I want it to always show the current days developing profile along with the previous days profile, at all times.

Thanks in advance.

You can set up a repeating 2 Day Volume Profiles using the Volume by Price study:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_VolumeByPrice.html#Settings

Look at the Volume Graph Period Type Input settings.

Hi, thanks for the response.

Yes, I know how to set up a 2-day repeating volume profile. However, that draws a profile for individual 2-day periods. That is, on the 3rd day it starts a new 2-day profile, it uses data from the 3rd and 4th days to build the next 2-day profile. Then on the 5th day it starts another 2-day profile, using data from day 5 and 6.

This is not what I want, I want a continuous 2-day profile where it builds the profile using the developing day + the most recently closed day's data. Then on the 3rd day it builds a profile using data from that days developing data plus the most recently closed day. Then on the 4th day it builds the profile using data from the developing day and the most recently closed day.

Is this possible? If yes, which Volume Graph Period Type is it, and which other fields go along with this type of profile period?

Thanks.
