In regards to improving the integration with Interactive Brokers, what we are looking at is using a common FIX connection to route orders for those users who are using Sierra Chart and have an account with Interactive Brokers. We are going to ask them about this possibility to see if it is technically possible. Reference:
https://www1.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=4988

Although as we look at the specifications for the FIX API from IB there is no position reporting. Therefore, position reporting would be based upon order fills but because this would be an always maintained connection we would have an accurate history of order fills to have Sierra Chart generate positions from. So we do not see this really as much of a problem. This is no different than the way positions are reported for LMAX.

And the type of connectivity we would maintain to Interactive Brokers would be "Cross-Connect". This is the same kind of connectivity we are currently working on to TT.

And we are making definite progress on obtaining stock data feeds covering the US and other exchanges and level 2 data, and be able to provide it with our service packages at a reasonable price. And we plan to be able to obtain data from European stock exchanges, and also extend our market statistics calculation to those exchanges. We don't want to reveal too much about our data feed plans, but with what we are planning and what we see that we can achieve in the coming months is going to be a major major breakthrough with our data feed offerings with coverage, quality of service, and cost.

How about Tastyworks brokerage? They offer zero commish on equities, universal acct for trading both futures and equities and capped commish on options trades. They also offer zero commish on all closing options trades.

Please look into this. I believe this would be a great partnering for Sierra.

I second user9836! I have a tastyworks account as well.

Same people who built Think or Swim platform. They decided to do it again, even better.

SC is valuable for chart and algo trading and I'm in favor of the tdameritrade connection for equities execution.

The TOS DOM is not suitable for fast/active trading and it doesn't matter to me how the order gets executed. If I want fast trading, I'll go back to my 2-second SC charts of /NQ.

I've tried the IB TWS thing and it's too much overhead to start it up and then make SC connect to it locally. Too many moving parts, too much margin for error.

Could you please put back the old TDA connection that was removed in December 2019 until a conclusion is reached on the new TDA API?

I was using it for realtime TPO charts and cumulative delta on equities.

I'm also interested in connecting SC to the upcoming TastyWorks Small Exchange.

In favor of
1. An IB FIX CTCI implementation.
2. Futures Order Routing Service With Data, compatible with IB.
Either or similar technology is fine.
Thanks.

We have been watching the Small Exchange. We should get in contact with them to see if they are going to get the CFTC approval. If that sounds quite assured then we can begin the work on that sooner rather than later.

Tom Sosnoff announced on air this morning that The Small Exchange was approved by the CFTC.

If you approach tastyworks regarding the small exchange please consider them for stock and regular futures as well. Their "The Works" account may satisfy the CME requirement for having a funded futures trading account. Their options pricing is one of the best in the business and of course their stock commissions are zero, like everyone else. And yes, their charting is inadequate. It is ok for trading stock & options but any serious chart work has to be done with a 3rd party solution.

For canyon2

For Futures, TastyWorks is an Introduce Broker of INTL FCStone.
And INTL FCStone, works with Sierra Chart by the way of CQG Routing.
CQG Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions

For Equities & Options, TastyWorks is an Introduce Broker of Apex Clearing.
I don't know if Apex Clearing have a FIX or API who can be used by Sierra Chart.

I emailed Scott Sheridan with Tastyworks letting him know several of Sierra charts users are asking for integration to trade off Sierra charts

Scott reply

David:

Thanks for the continued support. We will need to launch our open API scheduled for later this year before we could connect to Sierra Charts.

Best…

Scott

Great tip about TastyWorks via CQG and FCStone.

I called TW and reached someone that was unfamiliar with Sierra Chart and CQG including the spelling for both. He went away for a few minutes and then suggested that I had them confused with another broker. I have 2 funded accounts with them. <end of call>

At FCStone, they also passed the phone around for a few minutes before saying they had no idea and to call TW. <end of call>

For the moment it appears there is no connection for SC to a futures account at TW.

Futures commissions merchant (FCM) of TastyWorks is FCStone
Extract of help center FAQ of TastyWorks
When you trade futures or options on futures at tastyworks, our futures commissions merchant (FCM) FCStone ....

TastyWorks is Introduce Broker of INTL FCStone.
And INTL FCStone, works with Sierra Chart by the way of CQG Routing. CQG Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions

But, it is probably in this case the Introduce Broker (TastyWorks) who can chose Open/Close CQG Route (for one software or another) for the accounts he introduced to the FCM (INTL FCStone).
