hi
what is the difference between USDOLLAR index and $DXY? shouldn't they always be the same? but they are not.

USDOLLAR Index from the FXCM data feed is the Dow Jones FXCM Dollar Index.
It's calculation can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dow_Jones_FXCM_Dollar_Index

$DXY from SC's historical data is the "real" USDollar Index which is traded at the ICE.
It's calculation can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Dollar_Index and here http://www.theice.com/publicdocs/futures_us/ICE_Dollar_Index_FAQ.pdf

I had asked SC before to add the "real" USDollar index to their realtime Forex data feed or Market Statistics feed.
Unfortunately they were not able/willing to do so. Please see here: http://www.sierrachart.com/supportboard/showthread.php?t=41947&highlight=dollar
