You will want to use the Trailing Stop order type documented here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_OrderTypes.html#TrailingStop

The offset is automatically set as explained.

Hi:
Thank you for the refernce. I have added the this "Trade managemnt by study" to my chart (also button on my toolbar).

However, one thing happens (I used IB and set up 100 as millseond for the data feed)
(1) the attached stop order from my OCO order is not correct.

So now I took out this study and another annoying problem happens
(1) I uses MARKET Buy with attached OCO with (simple basket, 10 tick target 10 tick stop), my stop will sometime shows the wierd value ( not 10 tick below) even most of time it is 10 tick below..
(2) AFter market buym then I swich this to the MARKET SELL OCO, my order will not be executue the first time, I need to submit it one more time for it to go.

I have tried many times and this probelm presists.

Please advise me how to take care this. It is very annoying.

Thanks

Hi:
I used the "trade management by study" to set up my trailing stop that follows and set to equal to the nuemrical value of "Parabolic" study. I also have TMS apperas on my tool bar.

How could I put this into my OCO?

On the Trade Window, when I set up my bracket, How do I setup b STOP type? Trailing STOP or jsut simple stop?

After I enable TMS on my tool bar, My Attached stop order should just follow this Parabolic study right?

THank you for your help

When using the Trade Management by Study, the Attached Order needs to be a simple stop.

Doing what you described, the stop will follow the parabolic.

Thanks.

Another question: After I have a postion ( a simple market-buy long posotion), how do I later on add an OCO with a limit order (target ) and a trailing stop?

Thanks

I just love this platform! :D

Feature doc page ( http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_AttachedOrders.html#StudyControlledTargetsStops ) may need to mention that "On Bar Close" and "Every N Seconds" differ in that
- "On Bar Close" gets the referenced indicator's value for one bar in the past (eg. second parabolic below or the last fixed value of an MA)
- but "Every N Seconds" gets indi value for the currently updating bar (eg. the recent parabolic or the continously updating end of an MA).
Just for the clarity.

An idea.. only move stop/target
- if the new stop is closer to the price than the current (eg. stop has been manually adjusted)
- if the new stop is on the right side of the trade
- possibly, make it optional to close the trade if the stop/target moves to the wrong side of the trade

Eg. in a long position the parabolic changes side above the price
- some trading service deny/allow to move the sell stop above the price which would result in an immediate close of the position
- yet the strategy
- - may wanna keep with the last parabolic level below the price
- - or may wish to close the position in this case (optional setting)

Warning.. eg. parabolic may still be above the price when a long initiated and with an optional close on side-change would close the just opened position.
I have no idea how to avoid this.. or just leave this option off the table and trail only on the good side of the price. Just my two cents.

Thanks

If I open a trade on an outside DOM and then send the attached orders from Sierra (.. by Position) the trailing don't work. I expected that it might do even with the DOM's auto-sent orders but don't.

Must the original entry sent from the chart doing the trailing?

Thanks

When you refer to an outside DOM is this a Sierra Chart DOM?

If you use the Send Attached Orders order type, a Trailing Stop Attached Order should work in any case.

I figured out that the cause was most probably that I used the On Bar Close setting which moves the stop according to the study value of one more bar behind.. eg. stop is set to the second parabolic level below and not to the most recent. So when the new bar and a higher parabolic appeared the original stop didn't moved but it turned out that this is what expected. Sorry for bringing up.

Thanks

(It was the TransAct DOM)
