I've just created a new PC and installed Sierra Chart. The first line in my log says this: Error opening the InternalOrderID.data file for writing. Windows error code 5: Access is denied. | 2013-05-22 21:55:44 Any idea on how to fix? |

Go to that file in the Sierra Chart folder on your system. Right-click on it and select Properties and make sure the "Read only" option is disabled.

The read only attribute is not set. Anything else? Something to do with UAC? I'm using Windows Server 2008 R2 DataCenter Edition.

Make sure the Windows account that you are logged into, has read and write access to the Sierra Chart folder.

Thanks that worked. I got this problem because I installed SierraChart under the Administrator account. I then logged on with my "normal" account (which is a member of local admins).
