Thanks for all the info. Finished AlanBox dll, not that fancy as charts from the link above.

Give it a try, let me know how it works(looking good from play back I tested).

Alan Box Custrom DLL

1. Change subgraph number 2 to chart background color for better high-lite bar effect.

2. offset number need to be "0" zero for real time line plotting.

3. Box lines won't plot untill the second bar(due to limit on SC which can't draw line beyound current bar).

4. for chart 2 change both "Begin Time/End Time" to match "Open/Close Time".

I am working on new codes for Alan Box and tranfered it to jhabox.dll. Will post it here after I finished live data testing.

new dll name jhabox.dll

this new dll can do 60/30/10/5 min alan box charts but seems there's bugs on 60 and 5 min charts. I will see if I can fix after this long weekend.

I have added your latest jhabox code to the daManual site, where all of Alan's "stuff" is collected. I will check back here now and again, but you can also email me if and when you make further updates. Great work!!

I would like to try your Alan Box dll. I downloaded your latest version (11/28/2005) and unzipped it to the Sierra chart main directory but can not call it with jhabox.AlanBox. I can get a version with jh.AlanBox but it draws in yellow only and offers no settings options other than Begin Time and End Time. I also re downloaded and re installed it with the same results. Also there are no studies down loaded and when it installs in the Sierra directory it shows as jhabox-1128005 v102b.dll. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Renaming "jhabox-1128005 v102b.dll" file to "jhabox.dll" will do the job.

You can use the study collection found in v1.01b zip file posted above.

well, that was simple, thanks. Still having one problem, I can't change the start time. It insists on 7:20 as opposed to the 8:20 I want. I entered the time as 820 (no colon). Thanks again

That's the tricky part of sierrachart you need to enter as "minuts from midnight".

8:20 ET = 8x60 + 20 = 500 min
7:20 CT = 7x60 + 20 = 440 min

same as the close time.

hmm... I can't get backfill from IB on ET. Can you zip and upload ET mnd data file here? I can look at it and come up some sort of study collection for you.

BTW, the trading hour is 9:05 to 13:30 CT right? And what time frame you use?

(Interesting product you are trading. Mind share some insight on this product?)

I am trying to play with the Alan boxes. I am unable to load this study collect. I have put and renamed the dll in the correct file. Also put the study collect in the proper place. I have added many dlls and for some reason cant get this one to function. Keep getting dll error. Any help is appreciated as I am really frustrated and getting tippsy . TIA Kathy

Can you post the dll error message here and what market you are trying to chart alan box
