Time Range Highlight Study bug

There seems to be a peculiar bug with the Time Range Highlight study, such that the highlighting doesn't extend below the value "1" on the Y-axis. The Time Range Highlight Transparent study appears...

Are the default Global Symbol Settings for Interactive Brokers provided directly by IB, or are they maintained by the SierraCharts team? A few of the settings are incorrect, also none of them appear...

Minor feature request - link chart date ranges

When setting up Sierra w/ custom studies under Wine, is the Watcom compiler the only option available for building the studies?

Re: Version 899 scroll problem...

The "Goto" feature is great when you want to jump a significant distance (e.g. go back 3 weeks on a 1-min chart). For moving to a chart point that's reasonably close to the boundary of the currently...

Re: Version 899 scroll problem...

The scrollbar works, but its much slower and is less convenient. During the trading day, I often want to scroll back a few hours (on a low resolution chart) or see the end of the previous trading...

Re: Version 899 scroll problem...

Did a bit more experimentation and here are the steps to reproduce:

1) Create a new Intraday chart (if you scroll it via the Hand tool, everything works fine at this point)

2) Set Link Number...

Re: Version 899 scroll problem...

I see the exact same issue with v900. Several linked charts open. If I scroll one of them quickly (using the Hand tool), then the one I am scrolling doesnt update at all until I stop scrolling,...

Re: Memory allocation issues with v900

Ok. So to make sure that I only allocate the memory once for the study, is it safe to set "PersistVars->i1 = 0" in sc.SetDefaults, then allocate the memory in the main block if the value is 0? Or is...

Memory allocation issues with v900

I upgraded to v900 (from v877) and found that my ACSIL study that used to allocate memory and keep a pointer to that memory in sc.PersistVars is now causing CPU exceptions when applied to a price...

Re: New UI Bug

Ok. I would very much like the gridlines back, if possible.

Thx,

Re: New UI Bug

Attached is a screenshot of the exact same chart (all the same settings) from v877. As you can see, it has both vertical/horizontal gridlines, and the highlight color is considerably lighter for some...

New UI Bug

I just upgraded from v877 to v887 and found that chart gridlines are now getting covered up by the Time Range Highlight study. This is a change from before, and is not a desirable change.

Please...

Feature request -- improved chart scaling

Re: New ACSIL Function for Opening a Chart

Could "last date to display" be added as well? My use case is that I do a lot of testing in an external numerical analysis tool, but then use Sierra for a visual review on the setups of interest....

Re: New ACSIL Function for Opening a Chart

Looks excellent, and very useful.

Didn't see an option to set ("Days to display," "last date to display", "price display format", and "tick size") in the parameter list. Can those be specifiable...

Re: USER VOTE. What next big feature for SC do you wish?

Would be nice if event driven programming could be expanded to trigger on user generated actions such as chart scroll and tool use. In other words, trigger a user function immediately when a user...

Re: .scid files are extremely large

That makes sense. And agree that with compression, file size isnt really an issue. Not suggesting that this should be a priority for development.

Just noting that if you wanted to achieve maximum...

Re: .scid files are extremely large

I think there are significant inefficiencies in terms of how Sierra saves tick data in SCID files. I have a tick data ASCII file (four columns - date/time/price/volume) that's 584MB on disk. When I...

I looked into it as you suggested, and it appears that the crux of the issue is that prices in Sierra are stored as 32-bit floats, and price values that go out to two decimal points are typically not...

Re: Rounding question

It appears that your guidance on rounding is incorrect. Using the Retracement tool with the origin (100% level) at 95.71 and the peak (0% level) at 96.28, the 50% level is indicated as 95.99....
