Message and Alert Logs
The Sierra Chart Message Log (Window >> Show/Hide Message Log) lists various kinds of messages from the data and trading services, and messages from Sierra Chart. The Alerts Log (Window >> Show/Hide Alerts Log) lists Alert Condition messages which contain detailed information given when an Alert Condition has been met.
When a message is added to a log, the log window will not get the focus. This is so you will not be interrupted with your work in another program or Sierra Chart. However, it may partially cover the window you are working in. Just press the Close button to close it if it is in your way, or move it by dragging the title bar.
If the Message Log often displays automatically, then this could be because it is reporting an error message to you. You need to look at the error message and do what is necessary to prevent this error message from occurring. For example, if it is a message about a file that cannot be read, then the solution would be to close the chart which is causing the error to remove it from the chartbook.
