Chartbooks
Introduction
All chart windows are contained within chartbooks. A chartbook is not a window. It is a collection of chart windows. Multiple charts can be within a single chartbook. When a chart is opened, it is added to a chartbook. A new chartbook named chartbook1.cht is created if one is not already open when a chart is opened. A chart is saved by saving the entire chartbook it is contained within. A chartbook can be later opened with all the charts and chart settings restored. Many chartbooks can be loaded but only 1 can be visible at a time.
See the File Menu documentation page for commands to use with chartbooks.

Notes
- If you want to change the symbol of a chart, please see the Changing the Symbol of a Chart documentation page for instructions.
- You can save a group of technical analysis studies in a collection and add them to a chart with one step. Please see Study Collections for instructions.
- Chartbooks do not contain the data contained in chart data files. They only contain chart configuration data. If you want to share a chart with another user, then send the chartbook file to them. As long as they are using the same or similar data service, the data will be automatically downloaded for the charts in the chartbook. The extension for a chartbook file is .cht. These files are located in the Sierra Chart Data folder. You can find the location of this folder by selecting Global Settings >> General Settings. Look in the Data Files Folder box.
